Shane Lynch

Coach, Crossfit & Olympic Weightlifting

Shane has spent his life in gym training. From the time he was a child he had ambitions of being a top ranked martial artist in the Taekwon-Do World and is still in pursuit of his passion as he now prepares for the International Taekwon-Do Federation World Championships this year in Italy. The year he made the Canadian National Taekwon-Do Team he also stumbled upon CrossFit. He'll be the first to tell you that that is no coincidence. Now he prefers to train in a box performing constantly varied functional movements at high intensity, also known as CrossFit. He believes competing at the highest level in Taekwon-Do against so many different fighting styles you need to be a well-rounded athlete, which only CrossFit can prepare you for. Routine is the enemy, he always tells himself. When he isn't training himself all of his energy and passion goes into helping others peruse their fitness goals. 

Qualifications:

  • CrossFit Level 1 (CF-L1) Trainer
  • NCCP Competition Intro Weightlifting Coach

Past Experience:

  • 20+ years in Taekwon-Do
  • 10+ years as an assistant Taekwon-Do instructor
  • 6 years on the Canadian National Sparring Team
  • 4 years as Certified International Taekwon-Do Instructor
  • 3 time World Cup participant
  • 3 time World Championship participant

Achievements:

  • 2013 Canadian Light Weight Sparring Champion
  • 2014 Bronze Medalist (Team Sparring) - International Taekwon-Do Federation World Cup
